Thousands of words and photos have been used to describe what occurred on the Hudson River on January 15th, 2009 as flight 1549 went into the drink. Here is one fellow’s account of his participation in the rescue. Scott Koen a member of Lincoln Harbor Yacht Club was on scene four minutes after the plane crashed.

The picture of the man renting the house out showed him on a deck in a bathing suit with a “champagne gun” shooting it into the huge crowd of people.

Boil Me Crabby!

I had a blast working this month’s column. I was sitting at my desk when our Publisher, John Vargo called, informing me that he was en-route and bringing Blue Claw Crabs. While I’m a big-time seafood freak, I grew up on Long Island, Blue Crabs weren’t my specialty. If you want to talk to me about Steamers, I could drone on for days. Blue Crabs, I knew nothing, but I was going to find out.

DREDGING!

We have reached an impasse.

The problem is the silting in of Hudson River channels, harbors, marinas, coves and bays that have filled with so much silt that they cannot be navigated or used for any positive purpose but that of marshland.
