Larry Jensen is a classmate of mine from our formative days in the Lakeland school district in Shrub Oak. His family used to own a popular office supply store on Route 6 in Mohegan Lake, and they were a fixture in the local community. The “big boxes” eventually drove the Jensens out; Larry and I graduated from Lakeland in the early ‘80s and went our separate ways. We eventually reconnected thanks to the power of the Internet, and found ourselves living not too far apart – me in upstate New York, Larry in Vermont, although he traveled often throughout the USA by motorcycle, kayak, bicycle and boat with Lexie, his beloved Yorkshire Terrier.
