The River Project’s marine biology field station and Wetlab is currently located at Pier 40, north of Pier 26. The Wetlab on the south side of Pier 40 features a 3,500-gallon aquarium system of free-flowing brackish water from the Hudson River that varies in salinity with the changing hours and seasons. Numerous freshwater and marine vertebrates and invertebrates are represented there. Here we offer a variety of field trip experiences for schools and summer camps, host local scientists, and perform research of our own.
