We live just north of Stony Point, on
the east side of Route 9w, overlook-
ing the magnificent Hudson River!
For the past 30 years, we have woken
up to a different day, accentuated
by the nuances of the water, and the
vision greets us as soon as our eyelids
expand. Usually the sun is streaming
in our windows as it rises, and the
glow off the water follows us from the
bedroom, past the dining room to the
kitchen and into the viewing room.
Ships are passing, some delivering oil
to the power plants up river, others
coming back down the river only to
disappear around the bend at Stony
Point.
It has been a wonderful life. Our love
has always been water, especially the
Hudson River. No matter where we
traveled, and we actually lived on a
boat for a couple of years, we always
knew we were coming back here to
this lovely location.
We built the house in 1986 for the
views. It took a while to come up
with a plan, as the architect was re-
ally annoyed that we wanted all this
glass capturing as much of the view
as we possible could.
After it was built, our daughter
wondered why we would not put
any curtains on the windows. Our
explanation was simple, “How could
anyone block this magnificent view
even for a few minutes!”
It has been a truly fun house. We
have a path that leads down to the
river and a small dock where we take
our dinghy out to our mooring balls
to get on our sailboat. In between
the river and the dock is all kinds
of wildlife, deer, squirrels, etc. that
entertain us whenever Ron, my hus-
band, and I look out. And look out
we do, as the very reason we built
the house the way it is, still to this
day, is a joy to behold.
But, alas, as we have gotten older,
we realized that it was time to move.
We are going to buy a houseboat
in Florida and live near one of our
children. And our hope for our dream
home is that the new owners obtain
the peace, joy and amusement we
had when it was ours.
This is about as complete a house
as you can possible get. Located on
Route 9w you can go north or south
to major shopping areas within min-
utes, yet you are most definitely in
the country when home.
This is far more than just a house, it
is a vacation home as well. With its
mesmerizing views through mighty
oak trees, private access for swim-
ming, fishing or to get to your boat on
a mooring out front, 2,208 sq. ft, four
bedrooms, open floor plan and 2.2
acres which is not only residential but
also zoned for business.
For the right individuals you would
not want to be anywhere else.

will be pleasantly surprised at what
you see.
