I recently watched a rerun of the Anthony bourdon episode you were mentioned in. a quick
Google search brought me to this email.
I grew up crabbing with my father, uncle, and cousin. We live on the border of Pennsylvania
in northwest New Jersey, however we always made the trip out to Seaford NY in long island
to crab in August and September. located there was the old harbor marina, which rented out
small skiffs. from there we would mix scooping during low tide directly from the boat with
drop lines and cages during high tide. Never did we leave with less than a bushel. however,
it was the time spent with family and friends that was truly invaluable. I even wrote a paper
on my crabbing experience as being a means of learning about the importance of family
